New Sections Added to GSM Signal Monitor Knowledge Base

We are thrilled to announce an update to the GSM Signal Monitor Knowledge Base, which now includes two brand-new sections: Signal Strength and Color Labels and SIM Card Status: Inactive or Not Present. These additions aim to enhance your understanding of signal quality and SIM card functionality, ensuring you get the most out of the GSM Signal Monitor.

1. Signal Strength and Color Labels

This new section is designed to give users a clearer understanding of how signal strength is represented within the GSM Signal Monitor. We’ve introduced an easy-to-follow guide that explains the color-coded indicators used in the app to visually represent your signal’s strength:

  • 4 Black Bars: No service
  • 1 Red Bar: Very Weak Signal
  • 2 Orange Bars: Moderate Signal
  • 3 Green Bars: Good Signal
  • 4 Green Bars: Excellent Signal

Whether you’re troubleshooting connectivity issues or simply monitoring signal quality, this guide will help you quickly assess network strength at a glance.

2. SIM Card Status: Inactive or Not Present

Ever wondered why your SIM card might show as inactive or not present in the GSM Signal Monitor? This new section explains the various states your SIM card might display, and what each one means. Whether your SIM card is missing, not properly inserted, or inactive due to network issues, you’ll find detailed explanations and troubleshooting tips to resolve common problems.

Understanding these statuses will help you quickly identify SIM card-related issues and take the necessary steps to fix them.

Why These Updates Matter

The addition of these two sections was driven by user feedback and a desire to enhance the overall user experience. These resources are designed to make it easier to troubleshoot, monitor, and understand both signal quality and SIM card status in real time.

We invite you to explore these new sections in the GSM Signal Monitor Knowledge Base today and share your feedback with us.

Help Section Now Fixed on Android 5.1-7.1 Devices: SSL Error Resolved

Help Section Now Fixed on Android 5.1-7.1 Devices: SSL Error Resolved

We recently discovered that the Knowledge Base in our GSM Signal Monitor & SIM Info app was not loading on devices running Android versions 5.1, 6.0, 7.0, and 7.1. Users encountered a blank screen when trying to access the help section.

Upon investigation, we traced the issue to our SSL certificate provider. The Let’s Encrypt CA authority was being rejected on Android versions 5.1 (Lollipop), 6.0 (Marshmallow), and 7.0-7.1 (Nougat).

We’ve resolved the issue by switching our SSL certificate authority to DigiCert and issuing a new SSL certificate for getsignal.app. The Knowledge Base should now load correctly on all devices.
